Common errors

The errors buyers hit most - entitlement and escrow, missing dependencies, game build, oversized assets, and pool crashes - and how to fix each.

You lack the required entitlement

You lack the required entitlement to use <resource>

Paid DZR maps are protected by Cfx.re asset escrow. A protected resource only runs on a server whose license key belongs to the Cfx.re account that owns it: the account used at checkout, or the account it was transferred to.

  1. Sign in to portal.cfx.re with that account and check the resource is listed under your assets.

  2. Create the server license key on that same account and set it in server.cfg. If your host's control panel has a license key field, set it there instead.

    sv_licenseKey "your_key_here"

  3. Restart the whole server, not just the resource.

Bought it on the wrong account? Transfer the license from the portal: Assets, the resource's menu, Transfer, then confirm by email. Cfx.re allows one transfer, within 28 days of purchase, and it cannot be undone. See how to transfer assets.

Note

Cfx.re moved asset management from Keymaster to portal.cfx.re. Older guides that say "Keymaster" mean the portal now.

Failed to verify protected resource

[svadhesive] Failed to verify protected resource <resource>
Error parsing script ... syntax error near '<\1>'

The server could not read the protected files. Usual causes: files damaged during upload, the hidden .fxap file missing, or outdated server artifacts.

  1. Back up any config you changed, then download a fresh copy from portal.cfx.re.
  2. Upload the zip as one file and extract it on the server. If you use FTP, set it to binary transfer: ASCII or auto mode damages encrypted files.
  3. Keep every file as shipped, including the hidden .fxap file. Only files the resource lists as editable, like config.lua, can be changed.
  4. Update your server artifacts to the current recommended build. Protected resources need server build 5181 or newer.

Could not find dependency

Could not find dependency <dependency> for resource <resource>.
Couldn't start resource <resource>.

The resource needs another resource, like ox_lib or oxmysql, that the server cannot find.

  1. Install the dependency. The resource's docs list what it needs; Dependencies covers the common ones.

  2. Check its folder name matches exactly, then run refresh in the server console or restart the server.

  3. Keep dependencies above the resources that use them in server.cfg:

    ensure oxmysql
    ensure ox_lib
    ensure dzr-cutscenes

Couldn't find resource

Couldn't find resource <resource>.

The server has no resource by that name.

  • Check the name after ensure matches the folder exactly, including capitals; Linux servers are case-sensitive.
  • Folders in [brackets] are categories, so do not include them in the name.
  • The folder needs its fxmanifest.lua at the top level, not one folder deeper.
  • Run refresh in the server console after adding a resource.

Map missing props or textures

Each DZR map lists the game build it needs on its store page and in its install notes. A server on an older build loads the map with props or textures missing, or not at all.

Set the build in server.cfg and restart the server. It cannot change while the server runs.

sv_enforceGameBuild 3889

Each build includes the content of every build before it, so use at least the build the map lists. Recent builds, from the Cfx.re server commands:

Build DLC
3095 The Chop Shop
3258 Bottom Dollar Bounties
3407 Agents of Sabotage
3570 Money Fronts
3751 A Safehouse in the Hills
3889 The Kortz Center Heist

Asset uses N MiB of memory

Asset <resource>/<file> uses 18.5 MiB of physical memory.

A warning, not an error: the resource still starts. FiveM warns about any streamed file over 16 MiB, and above 48 MiB it adds that oversized assets can stop models loading or rendering. Many large files together can cause the same problems. If a DZR file is flagged, tell us in a ticket.

Pool Full crash

<PoolName> Pool Full, Size == <N>

The game crashes because the server loads more of one kind of object than the game allows, usually from many maps or vehicles together. Remove heavy resources you do not need, or raise the pool in server.cfg with increase_pool_size. The number is added to the game's default, not a new total:

increase_pool_size "TxdStore" 20000

Only some pools can be raised, within limits Cfx.re sets (TxdStore by up to 26000). It applies at server start, and players restart their game the first time they join with new pool settings. See server commands.

Still stuck

  • Restart the whole server after changing the license key or game build; both only apply at startup.
  • Run the DZR resource on its own to rule out a map conflict.
  • Open a ticket in our Discord with the full console output and your server artifact version.
